Garage to Game Room
I should really check in to the blog more often...
We are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and it is so exciting! The flooring is down now, doors are installed, crown is up, baseboards, etc. everything is looking so good and I'm so excited to share some pictures!
Since this was the old garage a lot had to be done to make this our new den/game room. I think Kristian is still under the impression that this is "his" FSU room...(no.)
When we first started on this garage I didn't realize every.single.thing would be coming down. We took down the sheet rock on the walls and ceiling, the brick FELL off the the exterior when the windows started being removed. (Somewhat concerning?) Ha. So, this room is practically 100% new construction, we had to raise the floor with concrete, new windows in different spots, french doors and windows where the roll up door was and ofcourse new brick on most of the exterior.
Below are some transformation pictures of the old garage turned gameroom/den.
The one big window has been replaced with 4 windows
These doors and windows replace what was the garage door.
The exterior brick will be painted white
These were my two options for the brick floor, and we are going with the top pattern.
You can see how closely the old brick on the left matches the new brick on the right side of the photo, even though it won't matter with it being painted.
And the best part of this whole room, the floor. I used a sliced brick (actual brick sliced in 2 or 3 pieces, imagine that) and a heavy grout. I wish I could use it everywhere, I LOVE IT!
