Half Bath Remodel
SHOP THE POST:
Faucet | Towel Ring | Door Knob
It's only been a year (or more) and I'm happy to share my half bathroom remodel with you!
No, this didn't take that long but I did switch out mirrors and light fixtures a few times until I got it exactly the way I wanted it. I've linked all the products above and they are all still in stock.
I started this remodel by knowing we wanted to take the door from the office to the half bath out and sheet rock it up. We did rip everything out of the bathroom; tile, toilet, vanity, mirror, and light.
I started this remodel by picking out my tile, I went with a marble tile. It's white/cream with a brown accent strip in the pattern. I then started looking for vanities, I knew we wanted a pre-made vanity and not have the cabinet maker make us one. This free standing vanity has tall legs so you can see the tile under it which I wanted to have. Since the space is so small I wanted to show off every inch of flooring as I could. I was so excited when I found this vanity, we have white cabinets in the kitchen and other bathrooms and this is so nice and different. The vanity did NOT come with a sink and countertop. It was tough deciding what color granite to do in here but again, I already had a white vanity and white quartz in one of our bathrooms and I wanted something different. I called the countertop installer that I always use and asked if he had any scraps. Scraps are the leftover pieces that are still in perfect condition but are left over from a large kitchen counter top or something like that. It usually is more affordable to go with a scrap piece than to not. He had a pretty black piece of granite with gold flakes, knowing I wanted to you brass fixtures and hardware in this bathroom sealed the deal on the granite.
This vanity came with just plain knobs so I wanted to replace the knobs with large handle on the doors to match the sink fixtures I chose. Brass is my favorite and the contrast between the wood vanity and the brass knob was nice. I found these cabinet pulls at Hobby Lobby on sale and the faucet, towel bar, and toilet paper holder are all the same brand so the brass's all match. There can be different shades of brass and I am so picky, I have to make sure they all are identical. It's very easy to change out knobs/pulls and it can really "jazz" up a cabinet or even a dresser.
I started out with a brass mirror and it was just too much so I found THIS mirror and it ties the black and brass together with all the other pieces. Wayfair is my go to for just about everything.
